While dry eye isn’t a serious condition, it can have a major impact on your quality of life. You may find your eyes get tired faster or you have difficulty reading. Not to mention the discomfort of a burning sensation or blurry vision.
You have almost certainly heard of diabetes, which is one of the most common chronic health conditions in the United States with an estimated 100 million adults currently living with diabetes or pre-diabetes.
If you’ve never worn contact lenses before, it can seem a bit intimidating. After all, you’re inserting something into your eye! Let’s ease your mind about the first step – your contact lens exam. This post will walk you through what’s involved in a contact lens.
Some patients have corneal abnormalities which mean that conventional lenses won’t sit comfortably on the surface of their eyes, while others suffer from eye conditions that mean normal contact lenses won’t be comfortable or could irritate their eyes.
Routine eye exams are a vital aspect of preventive eye care. Without routine eye exams, vision issues often go undetected since most eye disorders don't have clear symptoms.

Meet Kevin. When his vision suddenly began to get blurry almost a decade ago, he was told that contact lenses were his only option for seeing clearly. Since then, he has tried several types of gas permeable and specialty contact lenses only to end up with irritated and uncomfortable eyes. He had almost given up on contacts and any hope of clear vision until trying scleral lenses.
Best experience going for an eye exam. I am always in and out in a timely manner. Because I am diabetic I always have to get my eyes dilated which usually then meant 2 hours of blurriesness and wearing shades afterwards. Here they use a different technique, it's an extra fee of $35 with my copay but well worth it. No drops involved and waiting for them to take effect! It was quick and efficient.
From the second I called and confirmed my appointment with Shyiesha, to the welcome at the door, to the greeting and care from Rachel my experience was incredibly awesome. They made me feel comfortable , welcome, and were kind and considerate. Then , DR. Jackson , who was so thorough, informative, kind and well spoken on my eye health, and her interest in me as a person. An incredible person!!!. Dr Jackson, and her staff, are truly a great team of professionals. Incredible experience and I look forward to their ongoing care.........Kudos!
My experience at Jackson Eye was one of the best of any doctor’s office I’ve ever been to. From booking online to the in-office experience, everything was really efficient and smooth. The whole staff is friendly from Larry who first greets you, to the receptionist, the assistant, and of course Dr. Jackson, who was both knowledgeable and warm. Then being able to have my new glasses shipped to me was the icing on the cake. I highly recommend Jackson Eye.
This was my first eye exam as an adult and I’m happy that I chose Jackson Eye. The service was very pleasant and personable from start to finish. My favorite part of the visit was the office’s ambiance! It’s a calm vibe
The place is gorgeous! I felt like I was at a cute eyeglass boutique. The eye glass selection is AMAZING! The staff was professional along with the music playing while you shopped. Larry was the best eye glass stylist I have ever met! The man has class and fashion sense and takes his time choosing the right frame. Please support this local business! Thank you all for making me feel special!
My exam at Jackson Eye, was so lovely. Waited in my car, advised I'd arrived and was called to come in within minutes. Hygiene check, professionalism check, style check, customer service check. All the staff were welcoming. It was a relaxed exam without a lot of waiting for the next step. A happy customer here. Thanks to all the staff and keep up the good work.
